Debbie Cook, Master Gardener and Certified Arborist, talked seed packets and tomatoes this week on the D&B Garden Show.
If you still find yourself confused by all of the information on seed packets, Debbie gives great information about the number of days until harvesting, what diseases your plants are resistant to and the amount of light needed. Quick tip: If your package states your plants or veggies will need a lot of light, this typically means at least six hours of full sun every day.
If you’ve wondered about the answers to any of the following questions, listen in to Debbie’s answers:
Can I grow my tomato plants as deep as I want to?
Can I plant my tomatoes along side my raspberries?
What is the difference between a determinate and an indeterminate tomato?
What should my fertilizer for my tomatoes contain?
Debbie also answered a great listener question about what types of leaves are completely unsafe to use in homemade compost. Take a listen and make sure this one leaf doesn’t find it’s way into your compost.
