Map Your Neighborhood is a new program that the Nampa Salvation Army is helping coordinate, which will help pull your neighbors together when there is a local disaster. With the recent, out of the ordinary east coast earthquake, followed by Hurricane Irene, being prepared for such an event should be at the top of everyone’s mind. According to Sherill Stevens, Family Services and Development for the Salvation Army, Idaho has a higher probability than the east coast of a natural disaster, like an earthquake (Idaho is fifth on FEMA’s earthquake watch list).
What are you doing to be prepared? If you would like to be a leader in your community, or are already a community leader, and would like more information on Map Your Neighborhood there are several things you can do.
